Landlord's Legal Responsibilities For Letting Residential Property

As a landlord, as a very basic requirement, you must keep your rented property safe and free from health hazards for the tenant. Health and Safety of Tenant and family are of prime importance.

When you decide to rent out your residential property, you must comply with legal requirements as a Landlord.

You may have purchased a new property, or you are moving to another city for employment or business and wish to let your property. This may sound simple but there are legal requirements to satisfy before you rent out your property.

You will need to provide appropriate certificates for all gas equipment and electrical equipment that they are safely installed and maintained. You will also need to provide an Energy Performance Certificate for the property.

Lease or AST (Assured Short Term) Lease
